AVON. The Board a«et on Jan. 2(5 j present —The Chairman and all tho members. —The Surveyor’s report was read and considered.— With respect to Orescent road, it was resolved not to lower tho road, but to fill up the'ditch on the west side and form a footpath as far as Henley'.", the ditch on the east side being re-opened for the benefit of tho district j and to inform tho inhabitant# that the Board is prepared to connect tho properties on the west side with the ditch, upon tho cost of pipes and Uhour being paid.—Tho Surveyor wa* instructed to inform contractors under the Board that (lie penalties will be strictly enforced in every case for non-fulfilment of contract* in specified time.—A letter wo* received from the Engineer of the Drainage Board relative to brick culvert on St Albans road. The Clerk was instructed to inform him that the Hoard do not recognise any re epomdbility with respect to tho same, and would require any damage done to bo made The Clerk was also directed to write to tho Drainage Board and point out that no reply had been received relative to open drain at side of Canal Reserve rood.—A letter was received from Mr Holmes, contractor, asking the Board to grant him ap extension cf time on the Boundary road contract; Mr Holmes to be notified that tho Board will extend the time till the end of April next—Messrs Barlow and Horner interviewed the Board with respect of forming roods in Horner's town«hip. The deputation was informed that the road# would be taken over upon tho usual condi'ions. —Letter was received from M. 'sr* Har -an and Stevens. Tho Clerk was instructed to replr. —A letter was received from Mr J. J. Patterson relative to formation of roars in Moncv’s paddock.—Letter was received from Mr' A. O'Neil relative to road encroaching on his land The Clerk was in both cases instructed to reply.—Accounts to the amount of £l9O 18* 3d were passed.— The Board then adjourned.
