Arrived—The ship Chile, from Timaru, from which she sailed on August 27. Considerable agitation prevails in Ireland owing to the continued ejectment of tenants. Several serious riots occurred on Friday and Saturday, resulting in conflicts between the police and the mobs. No fatalities on either side are reported.

The diving for the bodies at the scene of the Tay disaster continues.
