[By Tblegeaph.] The - Chimborazo arrived at Adelaide on Sept. 25, with English news to August 14, and Gape news to Sept, 6 ! 1 Mr Plimsoll states that his Bill providing for the detention of unsafe vessels has resulted in the condemnation of 819 defective ships during the first half of this year, while 96 overloaded ships were pronounced unsafe. Dr Gumming has resigned the Pastorate of the Scotch Church in Crown Court, London. The Wesleyan Conference held at Birmingham remitted the Polynesian missionaries to the entire maintenance of the Australian Society, It is reported that an alliance has been concluded between Bussia and Persia, The Czar has sent the Shah a cargo of rifles. A terrible storm burst over Denmark on August 4, which destroyed over 100 farm houses and killed 50 persons. A serious earthquake has occurred in China, causing much devastation. The Loochooans are discontented with the Chinese rule.
