The Chile brings 25 passengers, all told, second cabin and steerage, the second passengers having been quartered in the saloon. They have all been very comfortable, and have enjoyed perfect immunity from illness daring the passage. The passage has been utterly devoid of any incident, and has been marked by remarkably fine weather and very light winds, the topgallant sails were never taken oil the vessel from the time they were first set in the Channel until the Snares were passed on Feb. 10. The vessel brings a fall cargo, some 400 tons of which are for the Bluff. The majority of the passengers are for Wellington, only two families remaining here. Captain Cnlbert reports leaving Gravesend on Kov. 2, had fine north-east weather down the Channel, and took bis final departure from the Lizard on Hot. 4. Carried north-east winds across the Bay, where the best day's running of the whole passage was made, 210 miles being run ; the wind then fell light, and when in 29 north the north-east trades were met with, but they prove! exceedingly light. The sonth-east trades were picked np in 1 north on Dec. 4. and the equator crossed the same day. These trades were well from the southward and very light, leaving the ship in 27 sonth. Light north-north-east winds then prevailed until the meridian of the Cape was passed on Jan. 2. Fell in with the westerlies in 25 east on Jan. 6; they proved also very light, 200 miles being the best day’s work whilorunning down the easting between 45 and 46 sonth. Ho ice was seen.
