THE NEW ZEALAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
[By Telegraph.] [TIMES’ SPECIAL WIRE.] DUNEDIN, Feb. 17. A cable message was received in town today, dated Feb. 14, announcing the successful floating of the New Zealand Agricultural Company (Limited),’fa London; capital one million. The Company has been formed to purchase the estates of Messrs Joseph Clarke, G. M: Bell, and Lamooh and Driver, on the Waimea Plains, in Southland, and to re-eell them fa England fa suitable farms to bona.fide settlers, on deferred payments extending over ten or twelve years. It is understood that there are numerous applicants, and that the land, which is all wheat-growing land, with the Waimea Plains railway being formed throughout its entire length, will be speedily taken up. Sir Julius Vogel has assisted Mr Larnach in,, floating the Company, and is to be a Director, The Company inaugurates a new era fa. New Zealand settlement.
