LABOBNY.—Thomas Forsyth and A. Bait, on remand from yesterday for stealing liquors from the saloon of the Jessie Niool, were sentenced to seven days’ imprisonment. Lunacy from Drink.—George Nearcs.on remand from Resident Magistrate’s Court at Ashburton for lunacy from drink, was-re-manded to Jan. 2, and again this morning to lan. 6. MALVERN. Wednesday, Jan, 1. (Before H» J, Mathw, Esq.) Drunkenness. A first offender was separately charged'ivith being drunk and disorderly and resisting the police. His Worship animadverted on the conduct of the accused'in creating;‘a disturbance at the district annual gathering, and fined him £1 for the first, and ordered* Him to'be locked up 24 hours for the second offence.
