[Feom the Pees s Agency.] LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Fbiday, Nov 16. The Imprest Supply Bill passed all its 'X e Education Bill was further considered, and passed through all its stages. The Aiding clause added yesterday was today struck out, the Speaker considering it an appropriation danse.

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Thtobday, Not 16. After the Hon J. Sheehan’s Native Statement the House went into Committee on the Land Bill. Progress was reported at 12.35, ond leave obtained to sit again. The House then rose. Fbiday, Nov 16. The House met at 2.30 p.m. , LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leave of absence for ten days was granted to Mr Reader Wood, Dr Wallis, and Mr Carrington. questions. In reply to Mr Kelly, Sir G. Gbby said that 'Government agreed with the recommendation of the Fetitione Committee oti tho petition of the Chairman of tho Titanic Steel and Iron Company. NEW BILLS. The following Bills were introduced: — Lyttelton Harbour Works Compensation Bill (Hon W. J. M. Latnaoh), Westland and Nelson Coalfields Administration Bill (Hon J. Mooandrew), Cemeteries Management Bill (Hon J. Sheehan), Lyttelton and Heathoote Beorearion Ground Bill (Hon J. T. Fisher). Mr Sutton moved for leave to introduce a Bill to amend (he Napier Swamp Nuisance Act, 1875. . . a ~ The Spbakbb ruled that a private Act could not be amended by a pnblio BillTho Hon J. Sheehan eaid that if it were competent, for Government to do so, they would be glad to introduce this measure os a public one, as the matter wos a very important one. Mr Button urged the importance of tho Bill, which was to extend the period of the operation of the former Act. The Sphakbs advised the hon member to confer with the Government. The Bill oonld not be introduced in its present form.

IUPBESX SUPPLY BILL. The Imprest Sapply Bill No. 6 was received from His Excellency by message. In Committee of Sapply, a motion granting the amount asked for (£100,000) was agreed to without debate. . .. .. Tho Bill was then passed through all its SECOND SHADINGS. The Waikato Hospital Reserves BiU, Walsh rad others’ Pension Bill, Marine Act Amendment Bill, were read a second time.

EDUCATION BILL. The Hon J. Sheehan moved that tno House disagree with the Legislative Conned s Amendments in the Education Reserves Bill, rad a conference was asked for. shipping and seamen’s bill. This Bill was further considered in Gemmittee.

ADJOUBNMBNT. . The Hon J- Sheehan moved tho adjouro* meat of tho House at 6.30 p.m. until Mon

day. The Public Works and FiaraeiOl Statements had to bo prepared, and itwae absolutely necessary (bat Ministers should have some (Ime to consult together. The House had been sitting so eontinuorisly (hat really the Cabinet had not had time to meet. The motion was agreed to.

It has produced on excellent effect, and the worst the Opposition oan say of it is that it is really their policy which he bss adopted. To-day there were rumours of intended opposition to the Imprest Supply, bnt none was offered, and the BiU passed both Homes. To-night the Home does not sit is Ministers want time to consult in Cabinet on tha Financial and Fablio Works Statements. If these are half as satisfactory as Mr Sheehan's' statement last night (he Government will have a good majority at their back.
