ROAD BOARDS.

AVON. The Board met on Fob. 5; present— the Chairman and all the members. —The Surveyor’s report was read and considered.—The Collector was instructed to sue immediately for all outstanding rates. —The Clerk was instructed to inform Mr De Bourbel, in reply to his request relative to forming road, that the Board do not feel justified in expending money on the road spoken of. —In respect to Mr Smyth's request, the Board agreed to lay the pipes, upon condition that the parties benefited pay half the cost.—Particulars of bridge over the Avon were ordered to be sent to the Domain Board, with a request that they will grant a footpath to the Park rood. —The Clerk was instructed to report to the Board of Health any case coming under his notice, in compliance with their request.—A requisition was received from the inhabitants of Yague’s road, requesting the Board to form the road. The Clerk was instructed to reply that, as soon as the fences were erected in the proper places, the formation would be proceeded with.—Several objections to the assessments were received,—' The Surveyor was instructed to call for tenders for the supply of 2000 yards of metal. — Tenders wore received for forming roads on sections 105 and 148, and one accepted. Accounts were passed to the amount of £303 2s 3d, and ordered to be paid. The Board then adjourned. EAST MALYERN. A meeting of this Board was held at the office on Feb. 6 ; present—Messrs M‘ll- - M'Millan, Rossitor, and Barr.—Correspondence was read :—From the Solwyn County Council, requesting to be supplied with certain information in connection with the Rate Roll.—From Mr Q. A. Buck, offering to compile the Electoral Roll according to the Act. The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt of the letter—From Mr C. H. Williams, stating that the Board had the same power to make cutting at the Hawkins Bridge, as on any other road in the district.— From the same in reference to surveying the road through the Police Reserve.—From Messrs Austin and Kirk, enclosing list of the drain pipes.—From Mr John Jebson, asking the Board to erase a minute in the minute-bock of the Board saying " That an abusive letter was received from John Jebsonalso asking the Board to make the Block road passable for traffic; also asking the Board to provide a balloon to give access to the residents on the south side of the Hawkins. Mr M'Millan was of opinion that in the event of the Board entertaining the request, Mr Jebson ought to be asked if he would supply the gas —The Clerk was instructed to inspect the Block road, and report as to the cost of having the same made, as requested by Mr Jebson ; also to inspect the South Malvern Hill road, and have the thistles cut off the roads in the district. The Clerk was further instructed to call for tenders for certain works.—Accounts amounting to £2OO I2s 5d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
