The following were the items Spirits, 3271 galls, £197 Ss lid; wine, US galls, £23 12s; beer, 77 galls, £4 16s 3d; tobacco, 4321b5, £54; sugar, 90291b5, £37 12s sd; tea, 54141b5, £l3B 7s; drapery, 2 cases, £1 l|s ; apparel, 1 case, 10s; grindery, 1 case, £2 3s fad; Baddlery, 8 cases, £l9; sundries, £24 Os 2d. The land sales on Monday amounted to 3493 acres, &s follows -.—Ashley, 185; Selwyn, 40; Akaroa, 21; Ashburton, 3247— realising £6986. The land sales for the month of January amount ed to 25,301 acres 7 perches, in the following Counties : —Ashley, 2535 a 2r; Selwyn, 1303 a 6p; Akaroa, 2o0a; Ashburton, 16,773 a 2r; Geraldine, 1518 alr Ip; Waimate, 2913 a 3r; Town of Ashburton, sa; Town of South Eokaia, la 2r; Town of Arowhenua, Ir; Town of Waimate, Ir—realising £51,044 10s 6d.
