THE NORMAL SCHOOL APPOINTMENTS.
TO THE EDITOR OE THE liTTTELTON TIMES. Sir, —My attention has been drawn to a letter in your columns, in which I am styled “ Master of the Normal School.” This is an errorj though one into which those uninitiated into the mysteries of Education in this Province would be very liable to fall. The official designation of the school now held in the Normal School building is “ The District School in the Northern Part of the West Christchurch District.” The school was at first conducted in the rooms at the back of the Wesleyan Church, Durham street, and on the completion of the Normal School building was transferred to that locality. I take this opportunity of stating that, had it not been for the zealous and untiring efforts of the assistant teachers, all of whom by the recent appointments are thrown out of employment, the school could not have given the satisfaction to those concerned, which it has continually done.
