The following were the items Spirits, 3551 gallons, £214 4s 5d ; wine, 471 gallons, £9 9s 7d : tobacco, 182 lbs, £22 15s : samples. Is 6d; tea, 2915 lbs, £72 17s 6d ; sugar, 35,889 lbs, £i49 10s 9d • drapery, 1 pckg, £1 ISs j ale, 250 gallons, £lu 10s; fancy goods, 6 cases, £l2 4s; sundries, 8-3, The land sales to-day amounted to 1022 acres, as follows.—Timaru, 53 acres; Waitangi, 197 ; Banka Peninsula, 140; Waipara, 526 ; Ashburton, 106 realising £2044.
