The barque John Knox finished her discharging yesterday, and will clear to-day for Sydney. The barque Coq du Village arrived in Newcastle on Deo, 4, from Lyttelton, in ballast, after a long and stormy passage. The schooner Eewaxd, Captain Westlake, is loading a cargo of timber at Hokitika, for Lyttelton. The topsail schooner Flying Cloud got under weigh yesterday at 11 a.m., and sailed for Wellington with a full cargo of produce. The brigantine Elizabeth Curie, Captain Dalmer, finished discharging yesterday morning, and was beached to undergo a thorough overhaul. The ship Dorette lias received on board 2500 bales of wool, and is meeting with quick despatch ; she is expected to finish her loading by Saturday next, and will clear for London.

The barque Elizabeth Graham hauled out from alongside the Gladstone Pier yesterday morning, to let the s.s. Taranaki take her berth. The ketch Emerald from Havelock arrived in harbour on Sunday at 2 p.m. Captain Whitby reports that he left that port on Saturday at 1 a.m., experienced strong northerly winds, and passed Cape Campbell at noon same day ; made Godley Heads at 8 a.m. on Sunday, and came up tbe harbour with a strong N.B. wind, and anchored off Peacock’s wharf.

The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Wheeler, arrived in harbour yesterday at noon from Dunedin, after a passage of 24 hours. Tbe purser reports that the steamer left Port Chalmers at noon on Deo. 13, and experienced strong N.E. winds accompanied with heavy sea until arrival. The Taranaki discharged 15 tons of cargo, and took on board 50 tons, 4 drays, and 6 horses, and sailed for Wellington and Northern ports at 7 p.m. We are indebted to the purser for files.

The schooner Saraband Mary arrivedjinharbour on Sunday at 11.15 p.m. from Hokitika. Captain Grubb reports that be left on Dec. 9 in company with tbe schooner Onward, experienced light westerly winds, and passed Cape Farewell on Dec. 11; sighted the brig Princess Alice off Stephen’s Island on Saturday morning; rounded Cape Campbell at 4 p.m. same day, and experienced strong N.W. winds; was off the Kaikouras at midnight. The schooner Onward arrived in harbour on Sunday at 11 p.m. Captain Bissett reports that he left Hokitika on Dec. 9at 11 a.m, in company with tie ■choonef Sarah and Mary, experienced light westerly winds, and passed Cape Farewell on Dec. 11; sighted the brig Princess Alice off Stephen’s Island on Saturday morning; rounded Cape Campbell at 4 p.m. the same day, and experienced strong N.W. winds ; sighted the ketch Jannette from Hokitika, also bound for this port with a cargo of timber, also a barque and ship steering to the northward, names unknown ; was off the Kaikouras at midnight on Saturday.
