Ngaro kept the lead, Bemnant and Guy Fawkes running neck-and-neok; these positions were main: tained until the straight run home, when Ngaro- won by a couple of lengths, Qny ■Fawkes beating Bemnant for seoond.placs: by a length. Parawhenua took the 'lead, Bemnant second, Guy Fawkes third, Ngaro fourth, Princess' Mary last. There were but slight changes in the. race until coming to the' straight, when Princess Mary came up from the last place and came within two lengths of Parawhenua, who was first, and a length off Bemnant. Parawhenua won by three lengths; Bemnant second, Princess Mary third. Time: 2min49secs.
