Moore, arrived off the heads yesterday at noon. That she had passed the Bluff on the previous evening st 8 o’clock was known at the Port, and hence she was looked for early in the morning. It appears, however, that she fell in with very thick weather towards daybreak, and hence Steam was eased and some time lost- The Mikado comes here very deep, the effect ot the enormous supply of coal she has onboard, enough, 3200 tons, being shipped at Sydney to oarry her to San Francisco and back. Her draught of water is 20 feet 3 inches, and as she reached the Heads at nearly low water, her excessive immersion necessitated i waiting for tide. She accordingly was kept off and on until 4 o’clock, and then the weather coming down densely thick, she was brought to' ad anchor in 18 fathoms of water. _ Pilot Kelly ■Was' on board, and when the tide served at 7 o’clock, the Mikado was got underweigh and reached the'anchorage off lower Deborah Bay at 8.30. Our reporter boarded her soon after, and-found that Cbptain Sewell, her Iqts paster, "had been Superseded by Captain Moore, long time connected with the A.S.N. Company service. A hearty reception ensued and particulars of the run across-trota Sydney were given. They do not amount to much. The steamer left Sydney on the 3rd instant at It a.m., and arrived as above,'the running time from Heads to Heads ; being 4 days 23 hours. Whilst the Mikado'was in-Sydney the was docked and underwent, a thorough cleaning and painting, and was generally overhauled, to fit her in every respect, for'the important service she is about to commence. She is in splendid condition. —Otago Hailg Times, Feb. 9.
