EAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL. NOTICE OF ELECTION. IN pursuance of Sections 83 and 113 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, I appoint THURSDAY, the 19th day of September next, for the purpose of Electing FIVE persons, being duly qualified to act as Councillors for the Borough of Kaiapoi, in the room of C. Oram and E. G. Kerr, who retire by rotation,and Messrs S. AY. Ellen, J. Hurse, and G. H. Wearing, whose seats have become vacant bv resignation. In pursuance of the first above-named section of the said Act, I require all candidates at such election to be nominated at the Council Chamber within the borough aforesaid, on THURSDAY, the sth day of September next, at the hour of noon. And I require that any person desirous of nominating candidates shall, before four o’clock in the afternoon of Wednesday next, September 4th, cause to be delivered to me a nomination paper, in the form in the ninth schedule to the said Act, or to the like effect, stating therein the Christian and surname of such candidate, together with the other particulars required in and by the said schedule. And such nomination paper shall bo simied by not less than three persons qualified to vote at such election, and also signed by the person named therein as a candidate in token of his assent to be so named.
