Flour has declined £1 per ton, and is now quoted by millers at £ls to £l6; Adelaide, £l6; Canterbury, from £l2 to £l4. Canterbury wheat, 5s 3d to 5s 6d per bushel; Adelaide wheat, 7s to 7s 6d. Oats are worth from 2s 9d to 3s, and are well supplied. The receipts of maize during the week amounted to 3550 bushels, and of barley to. 1301 bushels. There is a good demand for produce. Wellington.—The Independent of June 20 reports :—The non-arrival of consignments of wheat or flour for some time past, and the reported scarcity of wheat in the Canterbury market, have caused breadstuffs to become considerably firmer in price. Flour has risen fully £1 per ton during the last week, and good brands now command £ls 10s per ton. Oats range from 2s 9d to 3s, with a very fair supply. The market is entirely bare of wheat, and importers are looking forward to the ruling of the very highest rates during the winter months; indeed, millers are already becoming exceedingly anxious about the obtaining of supplies for their mills, in consequence of the exhaustion of stocks in Canterbury by the export of such large quantities of wheat to England during the last few months.
