LITTLE AKALOA SCHOOL.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Sir, —In your issue of Saturday, 15th inst., there appears a report of a meeting of the Little Akaloa School Committee, which says, “ Mr Bennett has offered a piece of land—one acre in extent —on certain conditions—the laud to be vested in the Superintendent. The local committee has intimated that they are not prepared to accept the ©ffer at the price specified.” As the report is not true, will you kindly allow me a small space in your columns to state that the committee and the Board of Education decided to accept Mr Bennett’s site, and that Mr Bennett himself has withdrawn the site, and refuses to allow the committee to make use of it, and also refuses to convey the site to the Superintendent, unless the present committee resign ? JOHN HUNTER, Chairman School Committee.
