The ship Matoaka, Captain Stevens, was towed outside the Heads at daybreak, and sailed at 4 p.m. yesterday. The s.s. Tararua sailed for Wellington at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. The barque Collingwood has hauled alongside Peacock’s wharf, to discharge her cargo of coals. The Southern Cross and Crishna, barques, have completed their inward discharge, and are loading grain. The three-masted schooner Rifleman was taken on to Messrs Flett and Loutitt’s slip yesterday to be stripped and re-coppered. The Mount McLaren schooner, having received a thorough overhaul, was launched from Messrs Grubb’s slip yesterday. The s.s. Airedale, Captain Kennedy, arrived in harbour yesterday, at 5 p.m., from Dunedin, via Akaroa ; left Port Chalmers at 4.30 p.m. on the 12th, and arrived at Akaroa at 7.30 a.m. on the 13th ; sailed again at 1.30 p.m., and experienced fine weather throughout the passage. We are indebted to Mr Pringle for files. The s.s. Keera sailed for Dunedin, via intermediate ports, yesterday, at 1 p.m. The s.s. Wellington arrived in harbour yesterday, at'lo o’clock a.m., from Dunedin ; left Port Chalmers at 4.35 p.m. on Wednesday ; experienced fine weather ; sailed for Wellington yesterday at 5.30 p.m. We are indebted to the purser for files. The steamship Alhambra, 497 tons, J. M‘Lean, commander, cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6.30 p.m. on the 30th April; experienced light S. and S.W. winds ; arrived off Hokitika at 7 p.m. on the sth ; laid at anchor until 4 p.m. on the Bth ; then proceeded on to Greymouth, leaving there at 7 p.m. same day, and arrived at Nelson at 3 p.m. on the 9th ; sailed at 8 p.m. on the 10th, and arrived at Wellington at 10.30 p.m. on tfaellth; left for Lyttelton at 8 p.m. the lame day ; experienced strong head winds, with very heavy head sea ; arrived at Lyttelton on Wednesday night.
