Dr Haast wishes to thank sincerely those who have so readily and liberally answered the appeal made by him in favour of the Museum. Dr Haast hopes that further subscriptions will be added, sufficient to carry out Mr Mountfort'a plans. Following the suggestions of a correspondent in the Lyttelton Times, he begs to invite the teachers of public and private schools to make collections for the same purpose among their pupils, for the instruction of whom the Canterbury Museum will in future be always available. He begs that the Working Classes will particularly understand that he will be happy to receive the Smallest Contributions. For the convenience of Subscribers, Lists have been opened at the following places : The Bank of New Zealand, Messrs Miles and Co., E, S. Dalgety and Co., Wilson and Alport, J. P. Jameson (’ook and Ross, Lyttelton Times, Press, Evening Mail, Star, Literary Institute. Miscellaneous. FREEMAN’S CHLORODYNE. THE ORIGINAL CHLORODYNE, invented by RICHARD FREEMAN Pharmaceutist, is one of the greatest discoveries of the present age, and is largely used by the most eminent medical men in hospital and private practice in all parts of the globe. It rapidly relieves pain, from whatever cause, allays the irritation of fever, soothes the system under exhausting diseases, and gives sleep without producing the distressing symptoms which arise from the use of opiates. Consumption, coughs, colds, influenza, bronchitis, asthma, hooping cough, diarrhoea, dysentry, cholera, spasms, cramps, rheumatism, gout, &c., immediately relieved, and in most cases cured. Conclusive evidence of the value of it in cholera, diarrhoea, and dysentry is afforded by the following from tiie Right Honourable Earl Russell, who graciously transmitted it to the inventor of Chlorodyne, Mr R. Freeman, and to the Royal College of Physicians of London. Extract of a despatch from Acting-Consul Webb, dated Manilla, September 17, 1864: “ The remedy most efficacious in its effects (in epidemic cholera) has been found to be Chlorodyne, and with a small quantity given to me by Dr Burke I have saved several lives.” Manufactured by the inventor, Richard Freeman, 70 Kennington Park Road, London, S. WHOLESALE AGENTS:— LEVY BROTHERS, 24 Bourke street east Melbourne. COOK & BOSS, Agents, Christchurch. 1890
