TO THE EDITOR OF THE LYTTELTON TIMES. Sm —Will you kindly insert the enclosed communication that I have received from Mark Sprot, Esq., judge of the late Westland Race Meeting ? Your obedient servant, W. D. BARNARD. April 24. Christchurch, 23rd April, 1869. Mr Robert Reay. Sir,—As the judge of the late races held at Hokitika, and a member of the Jockey Club, and a steward of the races, 1 can give you the satisfaction of stating that neither the owner (Mr Barnard), nor you, the rider, nor the horse Flying Jib, were disqualified by the Club from again appearing on the course in Westland, as appeared to be the case from a mistaken report in the newspapers.
