[BT EiECTEIC TELEGRAPH.] The Bluff, Feb. 2,9 a.m. The Gothenburg, which left Melbourne at 2 p.m. on Jan. 27, arrived here at 11 o ( clock last night. She had a fine passage, with the wind light throughout. She leaves the Bluff at 4 o'clock, with 170 tons cargo, and 38 saloon and 91 steerage passengeffcfor the various ports. The Alhambr&was to leave Melbourne for Hokitika on Feb. 3.
Melbourne, Jan. 27. A deputation of squatters urged the Colonial Secretary to introduce the South Australian Scab Acts into this colony. The meeting of Parliament is gazetted for Feb. 11. Three new cases of typhus have occurred among the Tornado's passengers. Lindsay has been committed for trial at Deniliquin, for murdering Harper. William Hutton, of Mount Eose, died of pycemia, caused by handling greasy wool while he had an abrasion on his hand. The Tan Yean reservoir is sinking materially from the long-continued drought. The Hon. T. M'Crae has accepted office as Commissioner of Public Works.
A survey party, under McDonald, has been despatched to Gipp'a Land, to open a road through to New South Wales.
Mr &. Smith, of the Bank of Australasia, who departs for Adelaide as Manager of the South Australian Banking Company, is succeeded by Mr Elliott, late manager at Ballarat. Intelligence has been received to the effect that the ship Hellespont has been wrecked outside San Francisco. The captain and crew are missing. The City of Launceaton has been sold to Captain Lawrence for £3BO. It is rumoured that Mullany, who turned Queen's evidenced the Clerkenwell explosion case, has arrived here. Captain Turner, of the brig Derwent, reports that on leaving Wellington on Jan. 14, he was fired into by the master of the cutter Glimpse, with swan shot.
The Southern Empire has arrived from London, with 490 passengers. The Melbourne Gas Company has declared a dividend of 8 per cent. There have been three additional cases of suspected smallpox at Heidelberg.

There are great complaints as to want of water.
Business generally is active. Flour is quoted at £l2los for trade parcels. New wheat is coming forward sparingly; 12,000 bushels of Victorian wheat have beeu sold at 5s Gd. Barley is wanted. Oats reached 4s Gd, and receded to 4s 3d, at which price there was a quick sale for New Zealand. Maize receded from 5s Gd to ss. Malt is quoted at lis 3d. In sugars there is a fall of 10s. In brandy, sales of Hennessy's in bulk have been made at 8s; Kartell's new, 7s Bd. Kerosene, Is lOd to Is lid, slow. In candles there is a fall of a halfpenny. Butter in keg is quoted at Is lOd.
Stdnet, Jan. 26. Mr Parkes declined giving evidence before a committee regarding the alleged Fenian conspiracy, The bulk of the estimates have passed the Assembly. The Chamber of Commerce opposed a fortnightly mail via Suez, preferring the Torres Straits route. They also opposed ad valorem duties. Bain has fallen plentifully. Tucker's stores, at Mudgee, were burned. At an inquiry, a verdict of incendiarism against Thomas Ryan was returned, who was committed for trial.
