A SUGGESTION.
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB H'TTELTOX TIMES. Sir,—l notice by a paragraph in your paper of Saturday that" the Misses Carandini were rewarded by a crowded house at their benefit, and also that Madame Carandini intends taking a farewell benefit on Monday." As those talented artistes have always been so well received here, and certain to command a large audience, would it not be as well if some of the committees of the various charitable institutions of this city would endeavour to make some arrangement with these popular singers to give one "grand concert" for the joint benefit of our local charities, previous to their departure for Victoria? As this seems to be the most seductive way of drawing our purse strings, I trust those interested in the languishing exchequers of these institutions, will act upon this suggestion, and I think there need be no fear as to the result. Your obedient servant, CITIZEN,
