POST OFFICE NOTICE.

On and after Wednesday, December the 11th the mails between Ijttefton and Christchurch will be carried by railway. The mails will be thrice daily between.Port and City,. which, until further notice, will close at the Chief Office, at 8.30 a.m., 11.30 a.m.; and 4.30 p.m. The return mails will bo sorted into the Cbristchurohprivate boxes at 10.45 a.m., 1.45 p.m., and 6.45 p.m. The daily deliveries by the letter carriers will com' inence at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. At Lyttelton the mails for Christchurch will close at 9.30 a.m., 12.80 p.m,i ands,3o'p.m. The return mails will be sorted into the private boxes at 9.80 a.m., 12,30 p.m., and 6.30 p.m. The Lyttolton Letter Carrier will. Commence his delivery at 9.45 a.m, and 12,45 p.m. On the same date, the Post-office at the ITeatlicot« Valley will bo moved tc the Railway Station, Heathriote Yalley. The mails for this office will dose at Christchurch at 8.30 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 9,30 a.m. At the Station, tho mails for Christchurch will closo at 1 p.m., and for Lyttelton •o.t noon. Tho Post-office at Forry Mead Station will be ; closed.

Mails for the Ferry road will oloso at Christchurch at 8.30 a.m, evory Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday; at the Perry road, for Christohurch at 3 p.m. on tlio same dajj. A Post Office has been opened at Ohinitahi, Governor's Bay, Mails will oloso for it at Christchurch, at 8 a.m., on Saturdays. The name of thoPost Olfieo ncartbo Bacocourse has been altered from Harewqod to Yaldhurst. This alteration became necessary, in consequence of there being two Harewood Itoads,
