Late letters, for places beyond the colony, by payment of an extra smiling stamp, and for places within the colony by payment of an extra sixpenny stamp upon each letter, can be posted at Christchuroh until within three hours, and at Lyttelton until one hour, of the sailing of the steamer, on Sunday, the 16th inst. Mails per Otago, for the Northern ports of New Zealand, will close at Christchuroh, at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton, at 11 a.m., on Monday, the 17th instant. ' NOTICE TO ADVEETISEES.
