TO CORRESPONDENTS.

All newspapers and correspondence for the Lyttelton Timet should be addressed CnßiSTcnußcn. All communications intended for insertion must be authenticated by the name and address of the writer, not necessarily for publication, but as a guarantea of good

faith. . ... We cannot undertake to return rejected communications. Letters, copies of which are addressed to other journaw, will not be published in the Lyttelton Times. We do not undertake to insert any communications which are not accompanied by an assurance that our rule on this subject has been complied with by our correspondents. Correspondents and advertisers will please bear in mind that, for the convenience of the printer, only one side of the paper should be written upon. We liave received a letter from G. R. Joblm on the subject of the alleged distress among the working classes. If Mr. Joblin will confine his observations within reasonable limits, and, when writing about his superiors, use the proper and ordinary titles of respect demanded by society, wo shall gladly insert his or any other man's communications. Mr. W. H. Pereival has addressed us on an imaginary grievance, in tg the Debtors and Creditors Act. Though no admirers of the Act, wo think that in this case Mr. • Pereival has only himself to blame for not carrying out its provisions.
