LYTTELTON GYMNASIUM ASSOCIATION. AT a late meeting held at the Town Hall for the purpose of enrolling Volanteers, the desirability of establishing a Gymnasium was brought forward, which resulted in the formation of a joint committee from among the Volunteers and several residents of Lyttelton to carry out tliis object. This committee met and decided on placing the matter before the public and asking their assistance; the Municipal Council have already granted the use of an eligible site in the Market Place for the erection of a drill shed, and the Provincial Government have responded by promising a sum of money for the same purpose. It is therefore proposed by the committee to add a suitable building with all the necessary appliances to establish the Gymnasium in connection with the Volunteer movement, to accomplish which the Lyttelton public are earnestly requested to co-operate. Subscriptions will be received at the various Banks at the Lyttelton Times office, and by the following members- of committee:—John S. Legett, Jas. E. Graham, Win. Kayner, J.
