Telegraphic Extension. —We are glad to be able to inform our readers that the telegraph wires for the lines of communication throughout this part of the country are daily expected to arrive, if, indeed, they are not already landed. Mr. Sheath and another gentleman connected with the staff" passed through this the other day, on their way to Dunedin, expecting the immediate arrival of the requisite material. On its arrival operations will immediately commence for fixing the wires, and there is great hope that this district may have the benefit of telegraphic communication during the ensuing business season. There is sufficient accommodation in the Post-office for a temporary office, and no further delay need be anticipated than fixing up the wires, which is not in itself a tedious operation.—Oflfliarn Times, Sept. 22.
