RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
CIIRISTCIIURCH— Saturday, July 16. (Before C. C. Bowen. Esq., li.M.) Drunk and Incapaulk.—John McPherson was brought up on the above charge, and discharged with a caution. Shoplifting.—Frederick Jones, alias Dc Garris, was charged with having taken from the shop of Messrs. Simpson and Marks, tobacconists, Colombo street, a quantity of pipes and cigars of the value of twelve shillings. The charge was proved, and the prisoner, who had nothing to say in defence, committed for trial at the next session of the Supreme Court. Monday, July 18. (Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M.) Lunacy.—Two females, named respectively Mary Anne Stevenson and Bridget Jerick, were brought before the Court this morning, and upon the evidences of Drs. Stedman and Marshall, committed to the Lunatic Asylum.
