Orders to withdraw advertisements must be sent, in writing, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, before 6 p.m., or they cannot take effect until after the noxt publication.
Advertisements Bent without order, as to number of insertions, will be inserted until countermanded. All orders must be legibly written on the face of the copy.

Mails per Phoebo, for Wellington, licton. Nelson, Taranaki, and Auckland, will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11 a.m., on Saturday, tho 9th instant. Mails per Auckland, for Sydney, Brisbane, and Nelson will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m., and at Lyttelton at 11 a.m., on Monduy, the 11th instant. Mails nor Ohigo, for Englunil, India, the Australian Colonies, the Mediterranean Ports, close at Christchurch at 7 a.m., and at Lyttelton ** on Friday, tho 15th instaut, and at Kaiapoi at 1 pan. on tho 14th instant. Money orders must bo procured before 1 p.m., and letters i'or registry must be posted before 5 p.m. on Thursday, the 14th instant. Lato letters for places beyond New Zealand, by payment of an extra shilling stamp, and for places in New Zealand, bv payment of an extra sixpenny stamp upon each letter, can be posted at Christchurch until 9-30 a.m., and at Lyttelton until 11-30. a.m., on Friday, the 15th instant.
