IT is proposed to establish a society having for iti object the introduction of beasts, birds, fishes and vegetable productions, of such species as maj be acclimatised with probable advantage to thif province and to the colony. Should the Society meet with the public supporl that is anticipated, it is proposed to apply to the Provincial Government for a block of land, to be devoted to the purposes of the Society, and which, il is imagined, may ultimately afford an object oJ much interest to the public, by becoming in some degree a kind of Zoological and Botanical Park or Garden, in the vicinity of Christchurch. The subscriptions have been fixed at £5 for the first year of membership, with an annual payment of £2 2s. for succeeding years. Donations of any amount are also solicited. Subscriptions and donations will be received by any member of the Provisional Committee. It is proposed, as soon as a sufficient amount of support shall have been obtained, to call a meeting of members, to adopt rules, to decide upon a course of action, and to appoint a Managing Committee.
