TRADUCER is a magnificent dark brown horse, 5 years old, of great power and symmetry, with a perfectly quiet temper, and has proved his hardiness and constitution by arriving after a six months' voyage in the condition he did. His performances in England have stamped him a first-class race-horse. See " Ruff's Guide " for 1860-61. When a 2 year old he was sold for 1200 Guineas. As a 3 year old he won the Wynnstay Handicap at Chester, beating a large field of good horses, and became first favourite for the Two Thousand Guinea Stakes, for which he ran third to the Wizard, the best horse of his year in England. Traducer's pedigree, both by dam and sire, are from the purest blood. His sire, The liibel, having more Herod blood in him than any horse now covering in England. THE celebrated Clydesdale Horse Orkney, imported from Scotland by Mr. P. Nimm. ORKNEY Is a beautiful bay horse, 6 years old, hands high, of excellent bone and substance, of good action, and of the purest Clydesdale blood. Orkney was got by that far-famed horse Clyde, who when a two-year-old, gained the first prize at the following placesAt Paisley, Hawston, Johnstone, and Kilbarchan, the principal breeding districts of Scotland. He also gained the Highland Society's first prize at Glasgow, as a three-year-old, and also the first prize at Dumbarton, as a four-year-old, and was allowed to be the best bred Clydesdale horse in Scotland. Orkney is out of Rose, a famous black Clydesdale mare, got by Chance j she has gained several first prizes as a brood mare, at each of the shows at Gargannock and Stirling, where her stock has never been beat, they having gained twelve first prizes, Orkney gaining ten of them.Further particulars as to stations and terms in a future advertisement. 3150 VANDERBILT WILL stand this season on Wednesdays and Saturdays at Mr. Page's Stables, Christchurch, aud the remainder of the week at hit) owner's. His sire, ' Sir Humphrey,' a pure Clydesdale, his dam,' Didappa,' a pure Suffolk, were both imported to Van Diemen's Land. His owner can guarantee him a sure foal getter. Terms: —£5 a mare, or a guarantee for £7. Groomage, ss. An allowance will be made to any one bringing three mares. Good paddocks provided for mares coming to this horse, at 2s 6d per week. The greatest attention paid to the mares, but no responsibility incurred. 3406 A. R. CREYKE. THE PEER WILL STAND THIS SEASON At Messrs. John Shand & Son's Stables, Avon Lodge, Riccarton Road, commencing on the Ist of October, 1862. THE PEER was bred by the Honble. Captain Hawke in 1855, got by Melbourne, out of Cinizelli, by Touchstone. MELBOTJBNE AND TOUCHSTONE Are both well known sires of winners of 2000 Guineas, Derby, Oaks, and St. Leger, for many years past. For a list of these see the Peer's cards for this season, which may be obtained at Messrs. Shand & Son's, at the Royal Hotel, at the ' Standard ' Office, Edds' Horse Repository, and at Messrs. Aikman & Wilson's Office. CINIZELLI WAS THE DAM OF THE MABQUIS, Who won the 2000 Guineas, 1862, and ran second for the Derby, 1862, being beaten by only half-a-neck, and beating all others off by a length-and-a-half. Time, 2min. 45|secs. Fee:—ls Guineas, payable on the Ist February, 1863. Groomage, 10s. Special arrangements will be made with any one who may send four or more mares, bona fide his own property, or as to guarantee. Mares covered by the Peer last year not stinted, and bona fide the property of the same owner, half-price. AiiSO, TO STAND THIS SEASON, At the same Stables, GLENDON, Well known for the strength and enduring qualities of his stock, both in the North and in the South Island. Glendon was bred by Mr. Scott, of Glendop, N.S.W. He was got by Cap-a-Pie, out of Griselda, by Dover; g. dam Gertrude, by Trumpet, out of GidleVi Cap-a-Pie (imported) by the Colonel, out of sister to Cactus. —See Stud Book, Vol. 4, p. 450. Dover (imported) by Patron, out of Maid of Kent, by Soothsayer. Trumpet (imported) own brother to Bugei, by Tiresias, out of a Rubens mare.—See Stud Book, Vol. 4, p. 402. Glendon has won the Ladies' Purse at Burnham Water Races, Wellington, and other races in the North Island. Fee: —5 Guineas, payable on the Ist February, 1863. Groomage, ss. Messrs.
