TO THE ELECTORS OF THE LINCOLN DISTRICT. /GENTLEMEN, — Having been requested by vX several influential electors to become a candidate in the forthcoming election, I beg to solicit your suffrages for the purpose of returning me as one of your representatives in the Provincial Council. If elected, I will advocate, as far as my voice and vote can do so, not only that a proper amount be expended as heretofore in public works, but that a fair outlay be made to benefit outlying districts. For the want of a small vote of public money, I have seen the progress of large districts held in check, and as all cannot enjoy the luxury of living on a main road, I deem it to be unjust to deny assistance to those beyond its limits. I have no past political course to which I can refer; but after my long residence amongst you, I trust ifc will not be necessary for me to do more than implicitly to assure you that, should I have the honor of being elected, I will give due attention to the interests of your district, and honestly and independently endeavour to promote the general advancement of the province.
