POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Private Boxes can be allotted to persons requiring them, on application to the Postmaster at Lyttelton, upon payment of the undermentioned fees:— Eees payable in respect of each private box— Eor the first year, or portion of a year, £2. Eor every subsequent year, or portion of a year— £\, Payable in advance, on the first day of January, in each year.
The Northern Mail in this Province being about to be extended to the River Hurunui, all persons residing in the districts near the undermentioned Post Offices are requested to forward to this Office notice in writing at which of the following Offices they are desirous of having their letters left :— John Leith's, Kowai. Joseph Ward's, Weka Pass. John Hastie, Hurunui. The Contractor from this Province will be met at the Post Office at the'Hurunui by the Mail contractor from Nelson, who will proceed North with any letters for that Province. The Mails will be despatched on the last day and 16th of each month at Lyttelton and Christchurch, and on the Ist and 17th of each month from Kaiapoi. The service will commence on the Ist February, 1861. E. E, WKIGHT, Postmaster.
