" ;; township of amesbury; :; " CONNEbTING THE' TQWNSHiPS OF ' NOR T H P 0 R T AN D SEFTON. PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT. THE Township of Amesbury, tho connecting link between Northport and Sefton,,has beenlaid out, and is now offered for sale upon very easy terms. The site was an early selection at the Land Office, and has been chosen for the advantages offered by a good dry soil, almost entirely surrounded by the Saltwater Creek, which is navigable to this point by vessels of thirty tons buithen. The water is slightly impregnated with salt only at high tide, and is perfectly free from taste at, other times. Large reserves are made in convenient localities for a market place and other public purposes; and in cases where any swamp is found, reserve is made for perfect drainage to the river before the piece is open for sale. '...-,. To purchasers in Northport and Sefton, this township recommends itself—the question of tbe navigation of the creek being now set at rest by the repeated successful trips of. the schooner Industry with valuable cargoes; the water frontages are thereby materially enhanced in value, and will command a ready sale. The roads through the town have been laid out in connection with those of the Government, and are of an uniform width, and the High street forms a direct road to connect the towns of Sefton and Northport, and will be an admirable situation for business purposes. The sections will be submitted to'auction in the order they are applied for,, upon an early day, of which due notice will be given. Ten per cent deposit upon the upset price will be required on application, and if:there is no further bid at the auction, the lot will be knocked down to the applicant. ' Terms—Thirty per cent, Cash., , Thirty per cent at the end of the first year. Forty percent at the end of the second year. Interest at ten per cent. '■■:'"" Application to be made to " JOHN OLLIVIER, Cashel Street, Christchurch, and Kaiapoi. March 26,1860. SOUTH AKAROA; MR. OLLIVIER has great; pleasure in announcing that the above valuable township has this day been opened for sale! It is situated in one of the most delightful portions of the harbour of Akaroa, and fronting upon the Onokou road and the sea. The land is perfectly dry, being one of the numerous spurs of the range of hills in the rear. The bush, extending down to the back sections, adds beauty to the scenery, and affords facilities for the supply of firewood to the township. On some of the sections there is a sufficient quantity to last a purchaser for a considerable time. The climate is particularly adapted to invalids, who can avail themselves of the invigorating sea bathing, which the beach so readily affords. The size of the allotments vary; those fronting upon the Marine Parade and Temple Gardens are quarter acres; the others from half an acre to three acres. Early application will be necessary to secure the most valuable sections. . Christchurch, Feb. 28,1860. : MR. THOMSON has received instructions from Mr. F. L.
