This annual meeting took place on Wednesday, the 7th instant, about 6 miles from Timaru. The Stewards were Messrs.-Harris, Thomson, Knight, and Brayshaw ; and Mr. George Rhodes acted as Judge. '. -Is y - We are glad to hear5 that the sporting community of Tiniaru have determined to abandon for .the future the absurd restrictions against horses trained or entered for Christchurch races, which- this year prevented many visitors, both men and horses, from attending; the meeting.
