NELSON.

New Miking Company.—Our readers will perceive by an advertisement in to-day's ' Examiner,' that a new Mining Company is about being formed in Nelson for the purpose of working lodes of copper ore which have for some time been known to exist in Croixelles harbour, The person who has principally got up this Company is a working miner, named Marsden, who having obtained from the Government a lease of the laud where the lodes looked most promising, has set himself to work, with the assistance of one or two other men, to test the •value of the lodes. The prospects are said to be encouraging, and this is likely to lead to the formation of a Company on a small scale to work the mine. We hope the efforts of those who engage in the undertaking will be crowned with success. We may mention that the next mail from England is expected to bring intelligence of active steps being taken to work the Dun Mountain Mine.— Examiner, Oct. 15.
