HHHE Conveyance Passenger Carts, •*- from the Post Office, Christchurch, will, until further notice, run twice a-day to and from Martin's Cottage, at the foot of the hill, ou Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in each week. From Christchurcli, at half-past 8 o'clock (morning:). From-Martin's Cottage, at half-past 10 do. From Chrisichttrch, at 3 o'clock (afternoon), From Martin's Cottage, at half-past 4 do. Post Office, Christchurch, NOTICE. PHILLIP ASHTON (25 years Riding. Master to the Bengal Horse Artillery) informs the Public of Canterbury that, at the request of several influential gentlemen, he has established himself at Christchurcli as an agent for the purchase and sale of horses. Books are open for the registration of horses for sale, wherein the description, pedigree, capabilities, and price of each, will be given, for the benefit of intending purchasers. Further information on all matters relating to horses may be made personally or by letter. Christchurch, Aug. 15th, 1855. Notice to Stock-owners and others. IVTOTICE is Hereby Givex, that the -*-^ country on both sides of the Bridle-path, extending from Mount Pleasant to the Dry Bush, is infected with Scab, and that measures have been taken to maintain a way for sheep driven into Lyttelton through Sunnier and Gollan's Bay during the continuance of the infection. All clean sheep landed in the harbor must belauded in Gollan's Bay, and driven up the country by way of Sumner. Any sheep, found upon the run specified above, will be deemed to be scabby and proceedings taken accordingly. William Congrevb, Inspector of Sheep. Notice, to Butchers & others, IVTOTICE is hereby giyeiy that "the -J-^ penalties under the 21st clause of the Scab and Catarrh Ordinance, will be strictly enforced. The clause is published for general information. Clause 21. "If any person shall slaughter, or shall have in his possession for the purpose of slaughtering, any sheep infected with either of the said diseases, or shall expose for sale the carcase, or any part thereof of any sheep so infected, he shall he liable for each such offence to a fine of not less than twenty shillings, nor more than five pounds, one half'of such fine to be paid to the informer. And such infected carcase or parts thereof, shall be thereupon destroyed in such manner as any Justice of the peace may direct." William Coxghevb, Inspector of Sheep. Christchurch, Aug. 15th, 1855.
