Whoever shall give such information as may lead to the recovery of the above, to Mr. Black, Kaiapoi, will receive the above reward. Christ's College, Canterbury. THERE will be an Election to a Scholarship on the Rowley Foundation of this College, on Saturday, the 11th of August next. The present value of the Scholarship is £12 per annum. It is tenable for four years, and open to all Youths, being members of the Church of England, who shall have attained the age of 14, and not exceeded that of 19 on the day of election. Candidates must present themselves at the Grammar School, Christcburch, on the Wednesday preceding the day of election, between the hours of 10 and 12 a.m., and must bring with them satisfactory attestations of their Age and Baptism (if possible, their regular Certificate of Baptism), together with Certificate from their Parents or Guardians that they are members of the Church of England, and testimonials of character. Proficiency will be required of the Candidates in Scripture History, and Divinity, and in any three of the following subjects, viz: —Classics, Mathematics, Ancient History, Modern History, Geography, the French Language, and the German Language. The successful candidate will he required to reside in Christchurch, and attend the course of instruction to be provided in the Senior Department of the College, during the College Terms for the time during which he-shall bold tbe Scholarship, and to conform to all the rules of the College.
