All such applications must be addressed to Captain Paksons, Immigration Agent, Lyttelton, and should state the number of servants or labourers wanted, the nature of the service required of them, and the place where immigrants may apply for such service. Persons desirous of having servants or labourers hired for them on the arrival of any ship, must employ an agent in Lyttelton to make such engagements. HPHE Provincial Government are prepared -*- to receive tenders up to the 18th day of Jure next, for the formation oPa tunnel 350 yards in length from Gollan's Bay to the gorge uf Sumner valley under Evans' Pass. The Tunnel will be 12 feet, wide and from 12 feel high in the centre to 16 feet high at the ends. The ground to be traversed is of volcanic formation, and is supposed to be of solid rock throughout the whole length of the tunnel. The drawings, specification, and conditions of contract, may be seen on and after May Ist on application at the office of Public Works.
