Office of Public Works, Christchurch, March 28, 1855.fc Sir,—ln accordance with your instructions, dated 20th Jan., 1855,1 have set out Sumner Road from Lyttelton to the Heathcote Ferry, on the lower level suggested by the Lyttelton and Christchurch Road Commissioners in their Report of 7th .April,' 1854, and now have the honor to report upon the direction, gradients, and estimated cost of the proposed road, and to submit for the approval of his Honor the Superintendent an outline of the manner in which I would recommend that the works should be conducted.
