Province of Canterbury to Wit: WHEREAS a Writ under the hand of James Edward Fitz Gerald, Esq., Superintendent of the said Province, bearing dale the 15th day of February, in the year of our Lord, one Thousand Eight hundred and Fifty Five, hath been directed to me, Charles Simeon, 1 Esq., as Relurning-Officer for the town of 1' Chiistchurch in the said Province; requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in form and manner by law prescribed, Three Persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the frown of Christchurch, NOW therefore I. the said pharles Simeon, Esq., Re-tuniing-Officer for ihe town of Christchurch, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited writ, give notice thai a public meeting of the electors of the town of Christcliurch : will lie held in the Market Place of the town of Chiislehurch, on Thursday, the Sth day of March next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating three persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the town of Christchurch, and iv the event of a pull being demanded for the candidates, ot any of them, such polling shall take place oil Friday, the 9th day of March next, in the lobby of the Provincial Council Chamber, at Christchurch.
