CimiSTCHUEcu Colonists' Society.— On Tuesday, the 14th instant, at a meeting of the Christchurch Colonists' Society, Mr. J. Brittan inthe chair, Mr. .Martin moved, and Mr. JE. J. Wakefield seconded, a resolution condemnatory of the act of the Superintendent in sending down the Provincial Council Extension Bill, with amendment, to the Council, instead of forwarding it by the steamer to His Excellency. Mr. Packer gave a history of the bill. Mr. Ollivier argued the legality of His Honor's conduct. The chairman reviewed the proceedings of the Council, and stated his opinion of the indiscretion, if not the illegality, of His Honor's conduct. The resolution was then put and carried.
