CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the Lytlellon Times. Sib,—l regret exceedingly that your remarks in last Wednesday's paper have caused Mr. Porter to suspend the delivery of the further portion of his lecture for the present. I must confess that in common with many others, I derived a pleasant Hour's instruction and amusement from the lecture, and the applause tendered upon several occasions during its.delivery affords sufficient evidence that it was heartily approved of by those present. We have but little to divert our minds from the drudgery of every day business, and I think the thanks of the community are due to gentlemen Avho gratuitously task themselves to furnish an evening's entertainment; besides, it has not been the privilege of every one amongst us to have access to the works referred toby Mr. Porter, nor the time to study them, so as to appreciate the circumstances related in the same lucid manner as that gentleman's descriptions were calculated to convey. Hoping the lecture is only deferred, I remain, yours obediently, One of those Pkesent.
