We extract the following Notices and Returns relating to this Province from the " Government Gazette," published on the 3lstult. :— Provincial Secretary's Office, Christchurch, Ist May, 1854. HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be publicly notified that the full provisions of the Ordinance for the Registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages will be carried into effect: and in order to warn all persons of the penalties to which they may become liable by neglecting to comply with those provisions, His Honor further directs the publication of the following digest of certain parts of the said Ordinance. By order of His Honor the Superintendent, H. G. Goula-nd, Provincial Secretary.
