PUBLIC NOTICE. WHEREAS I have received instructions from His Excellency the Officer administering- the Government of New Zealand directing me to inquire into' the complaints made by certain occupants of Pastoral Runs in this Province allotted to them by 'the late Commissioner of Crown Lands, and authorising me in case I find that any injustice has been done to such parties, from their claims not being properly understood, to remedy such wrong as far as lies in my power. Now I hereby give Notice to all parties, having any such complaints to make, to send in a statement of their claims in writing to this Office on or before Thursday the Ist June next, after which date the lands outside the Canterbury Block will be finally allotted to applicants according to their respective claims and priority o^ application, and in strict accordance with the Government Regulations for the issue of Depasturing Licences. Holders of depasturing licenses issued by the late Commissioner are also hereby required to attend at this Office on or before the above mentioned day, to sign a declaration of the amount of stock on their respective runs. All Runs which shall be found not to be stocked as required by the Government Regulations will be forfeited and offered for selection to any parties applying for them. "VTOTICE is hereby given that all -*-^ Runs granted for the depasturing of Stock within the Canterbury Block will be considered as open for re-selection unless the license for the same be renewed by payment of the rent within one month after it has become due. Schoolmasters will shoitly be wanted to take charge of the District Schools to be established by the Provincial Government. Persons desirous of applying for such situations are requested to send in their applications to the Rev. O. Mathias, Commissary of the Lord Bishop of New Zealand. Every application must state the age, and previous occupation of the applicant; and must be accompanied by testimonials as to character and qualification. To take charge of some schools, married couples would be preferred. The salaries will be determined by the Government according to the number of children in the school, and the qualification of the master, and ■will vary from £80 to £120 a year. ••■■• - In'all cases where it is possible, houses vill be provided for the master adjoining the school.
