HPHE Agent of the Canterbury -1- Association hereby notifies, that during his absence at Auckland at the Meeting of the General Assembly, Mr. Henry Joh3* Porter, of Lyttelton-, is authorized to acton his behalf in the management of the Association's affairs. TO BE LET BY TENDER, For a term of one year, HPHE Right of Pasturage on the Govern- -*- inent Domain, Hagley Park, and the Town Reserve at Christchureh. The agent of the Canterbury Association will undertake to indemnify Lessees who may find it necessary to prosecute for infringement of right. A special arrangement will be made with the Lessees to meet the contingency of this portion of the Association's property being handed over io the Provincial Government before the expiration of the term. TN oi-der to afford every facility to those -■^ who may have business to transact with me on behalf of the Canterbury Association, I intend (D.V.) to hold an office every Tuesday at Christchurch, at Mr. Hutchinson's Store (late Gibbs's), where, in conjunction with Mr. Cridland, I shall be ready to enter into agreements for the letting of land, and on Tuesday, 30th May, I hope to have the leases perfected for those tenants who hold agreements for leases. WHEREAS I have received instructions from His Excellency the Officer administering the Government of New Zealand directing me to inquire into the complaints made by certain occupants of Pastoral Runs in this Province allotted to them by the late Commissioner of Crown Lands, and authorising me in case I find that any injustice has been done to such parties, from their claims not being properly | understood, to remedy such wrong as far as lies in my power. Now I hereby give Notice to all parties, having any such complaints to make, to send in a statement of their claims in writing to this Office on or before Thursday the Ist June next, after which date the lands outside the Canterbury Block will be finally aHotted to applicants according to their respective claims and priority of application, and in strict accordance with the Government Regulations for the issue of Depasturing Licences. Holders of depasturing licenses issued by the late Commissioner are also hereby required to attend at this Office on or before the above mentioned day, to sign a declaration of the amount of stock on their respective runs. All Runs which shall be found not to be stocked as required by the Government Regulations will be forfeited and offered for selection to any parties applying for them.
