CmiisxcHUßCH Market, April Bth.— The prices of all grain remain at former quotations. Considerable quantities of wheat were purchased by the Millers at 10s. a bushel. Potatoes continue to advance in price, but buyers are cautious; they may be quoted from £7 to £8 a ton. There is a scarcity- of Poultiy.and eggs in the market, consequently prices range higher than usual. Butter and cheese are in demand but there is a good supply. The Market Committee held a meeting- to-day, and decided on celebrating the first anniversary of the establishment of the Market on the first Saturday in May, and as it has been attended with the most satisfactory results to the agricultural and mercantile community, no doubt there will be a large gathering. The autumnal show of the Christchurch Horticultural and Agricultural Society is to be held on the same day. An advertisement of the respective prizes appears in our advertising columns.
