T^TOTICE is Hereby Given, that on and * after the Ist day of January, 1854, the Post Office at Christchurch will be open at Mr. Bayfield's Establishment, Sumner Road. ' William L. Howard, Postmaster. Post Office, Lyttelton, Dec. 20, "1853. will be received at this office -*- on or before Wednesday, the 28th inst., for the carriage of the Mails between Christchurch and Lyttelton. The Mail will have to be conveyed three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, to start at 10 o'clock, a.m., from Lyttelton, and at 3 o'clock, p.m., from Christchurch ; the journey to be performed both ways in less than three hours. The Contract to be for one year from the Ist of January, 1854, to be terminable subsequently by two months' notice on the part of the GoveniM.ent or the Contractor. William L. Howard. Postmaster.
