PUBLIC NOTICE. AS all accounts with the General Government of New Zealand are to be closed on the 30th day of f the present month, all 'T.rJMlesmen arid others to whom the Government may be indebted, are requested to render in their accounts to the heads of the Departments on account of which such sums may be due, on or before Tuesday the 27th inst. TN PURSUANCE of instructions re- -"- ceived from His Excellency the Governor, Notice is Hereby Given, that on and after Friday, the 30th September, this Office will be closed for the receipt of revenue collected on account of the General Government. Officers collecting revenue are requested to arrange for the payment into the Treasury on that day of all sums remaining in hand, up to noon. After the 30th instant, no monies will be paid by the .Sub-treasurer, except in liquidation of liabilities previously incurred. The Sub-Treasurer's books will be finally closed on the 15th October. Any persons having claims against any department of the General Government are requested to prefer them immediately. Heads of Departments are requested at once to collect all accounts now due, to present the bills for examination and payment: and to furnish an account of all Contracts that will remain outstanding on the 30th Sep. The usual monthly accounts should be rendered in immediately on the close of. the month: and creditors of the several departments should be warned to call for payment at the Treasury before the I4th October.
