Auction Sales, Mr. A_-o_t, May 25th. — New Zealand Flour, £48 to £47 per ton ; Tea, in chests, £6 55.; Madras Sugar, 4|d. and 4£d. per lb.; Pampanga, 3|d. per lb. Christchurch: Market, May 21st. —The attendance to-day was very numerous. In the Corn Market for the same reasons stated in our last week's report, no large amount of business was done. Wheat, at the early part of the market, sold readily at 10s. per bushel, towards the close holders refused to sell at that price, and it was held at 12s. Some business was done in oats at 6s. 6d. per bushel. In Barley nothing was done, buyers refusing to give the price asked. A large quantity of Stock recently arrived in the " William Prowse" was sold by Auction, and realized high prices, from .fill to £\4 a-head. The Sheep by the late arrivals sold readily at 255. a-head. Potatoes, sold at £5 per ton. Carrots £4 per ton. Butter, Is. 6d. to Is. Bd. per lb. Wellington Markets, 20th May. —Retail prices,—First Flour, 38s. to 40s. per 100 lbs. Potatoes, 7s. 6d. per cwt.
